About Fusionium
Fusionium is an independent English-language publication dedicated to the craft and strategy of technical writing. We do not chase beginners with generic “how to write a manual” advice. Instead, we serve experienced technical communicators, documentation engineers, and content designers who already know the basics and want to sharpen their practice — from information architecture and API documentation to tooling, workflows, and editorial leadership.
This site exists because the technical writing field evolves rapidly: new standards (like the ISO 265xx series updates), shifting developer toolchains, and higher expectations for accessible, structured content. Fusionium helps readers stay current, think critically about their methods, and produce documentation that genuinely helps users.
Who This Site Is For
Our readers are typically:
- Senior technical writers and documentation leads managing complex projects or teams.
- API writers working with OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, gRPC, or GraphQL documentation.
- Information architects designing topic-based or modular content systems (DITA, Markdown, custom frameworks).
- Editors and content strategists responsible for style guides, terminology management, or localization workflows.
- Developers who write documentation and want to apply professional technical writing principles.
If you already understand structured authoring, minimalism, and audience analysis — and you want to go deeper into advanced techniques, tool evaluations, or industry debates — you are in the right place.
Topics We Cover
Fusionium focuses on practical, evidence-based articles across these areas:
- Information architecture & content design: topic-based authoring, content reuse, metadata strategies, and taxonomy.
- API documentation: REST, GraphQL, gRPC, SDK docs, OpenAPI tooling, and developer experience (DX).
- Tooling & workflows: static site generators, docs-as-code pipelines, version control for docs, and CI/CD integration.
- Editorial standards & quality: style guides (Microsoft, Google, custom), inclusive language, accessibility (WCAG), and plain language.
- Management & leadership: building documentation teams, measuring content effectiveness, and advocating for docs in product orgs.
- Emerging practices: AI-assisted writing, content operations (ContentOps), and structured content for omnichannel delivery.
Editorial Standards
We hold ourselves to the same rigor we advocate for in technical documentation:
- Factual accuracy: Every article is researched against primary sources — official documentation, standards bodies, or verified tool documentation. We do not publish speculation or unverified claims.
- Timely updates: Technical writing practices change. When a tool version, standard, or recommended practice becomes obsolete, we update or retire the affected article. Our content is reviewed on a rolling cycle.
- Transparency: We clearly distinguish between editorial content and any sponsored or affiliate material (we currently run none). Opinions are labeled as such.
- No fluff: Articles are concise and focused. We avoid filler, keyword stuffing, or vague advice. Every piece must provide actionable insight for an experienced reader.
